COVER ARTIST
“Alley in Montepulciano” by Mary Anne Dente
Visual Arts, especially painting and drawing, have been a life-long passion for Mary Anne. Throughout a fulfilling career in the teaching profession, Mary Anne shared and continued to develop her technique and skill as a watercolour painter. She has been inspired by artists at Sheridan College, the Haliburton School of the Arts, Central Technical Art School, Neilson Park in Etobicoke, and Springbank in Mississauga. She is a presently a member of Visual Arts Mississauga and the Springbank Group of Artists.
Mary Anne is constantly searching for ways to create dramatic paintings which experiment with light and colour. Her watercolours, especially her florals, are vibrant and dramatic. Although florals are a favourite subject, she also paints landscapes and portraiture in oil and acrylic. Her work has been displayed at Buckhorn Gallery on the Lake, Etobicoke, and most recently in Mississauga, Alice Fazooli’s, and the Mississauga Board of Trade.
Presently, you can view her works at Ode to Joy Gallery in Port Credit and on their website, www.odetojoy.com. Her paintings and custom painted Muskoka Chairs have found homes in private collections in Canada and the United States. Mary Anne can be reached at
